National chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has said President Bola Tinubu has approved the party’s blueprint for the political liberation, emancipation and de-marginalisation of the South East geopolitical zone.
Ganduje stated this yesterday when he hosted the lawmaker representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah in company of some leaders of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
LEADERSHIP reports that Ubah had detected from YPP to the APC last October.
The event had in attendance the chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, Governors Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State and Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, amongst other APC chieftains.
Ganduje in his address urged South East APC and political leaders to unite to negotiate for the presidency which they can only realise on the platform of the broom party.
He said the party would begin the revolution in South East with winning the 2025 Anambra governorship election with the presence of political juggernauts such as Ubah in the APC.
“I will like to let you know that Mr President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has approved our blueprint for political liberation of South East to the APC; he has approved the political emancipation, he has approved the political de-marginalisation of the South East. Be with one voice because if you speak with one voice, your voice will be bigger, wider… for the negotiation for the political leadership of this country.
“There is no unity and you need unity in diversity. We need you to be united and deliberately the party in Anambra State we need a change, revolution of South East… We thank you for this your cooperation,” he said.
Uzodinma vowed that APC leaders in the zone will work assiduously to capture all the five states in South-east as it was important for APC as a political party to become the vehicle for the region to be fully integrated into the Nigerian project.
He said: “Arising from the statement of the National Chairman of our great party and consistent to our desire as a political party to dominate… It is important that APC as a political party to become the vehicle for the South-east region to be fully integrated into the national project, that is the Nigerian project.
“So, we are determined in our region to be part and parcel of the Nigerian politics. Consistent to that, we are going to do our best to make sure that the five states in the South-eastern region are dominated by APC by endearing our party to the people of the South-east region.”
Earlier, Ubah said he and other leaders, members and supporters of the APC will work round the clock to dislodged the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the forthcoming general election to expand the broom revolution in the South-east.
