President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on the occasion of his birthday on May 1, 2026.

The president in a statement by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, joined the family, friends, associates and well-wishers in celebrating a public servant whom he said his years in office had been defined by focus, discipline and a clear sense of responsibility to the Nigerian people.

President Tinubu acknowledged Dr Tunji-Ojo’s contributions to public service, particularly his work in advancing reforms within the Ministry of Interior.

He said the minister had approached his responsibilities with urgency and a firm commitment to improving institutional processes, strengthening inter-agency coordination, and ensuring that government services are delivered with greater efficiency and accountability.

The president recognised the ongoing efforts under the ministry to modernise key operations, including immigration services, correctional administration and border management systems. He affirmed that these reforms were central to the administration’s broader objective of building a secure, orderly, and well-regulated internal environment that supports national development.

He added  that sustained reform within the Ministry is critical not only to improving service delivery but also to restoring public trust in government institutions, noting that confidence in systems is built through consistency, transparency, and results.

President Tinubu commended  the minister’s loyalty, work ethic, and alignment with the vision of the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that his contributions continue to support the administration’s drive to deliver tangible outcomes for Nigerians.

The president prayed that God would grant Dr Tunji-Ojo many more years in good health, strength and continued service to the nation.
