Tinubu Not Feeling Nigerians’ Pains, Group Alleges

Nigeria Patriotic Front Movement (NPFM) has expressed displeasure with the lingering hardship being faced by Nigerians under President Bola Tinubu.

The group said the president does not feel the pains Nigerians are going through, contrary to his continued claims.

Addressing newsmen in Kano yesterday, the chairman of the group, Comrade Abdulmajid Yakubu, said the president only uses the statement that he feels the pains of Nigerians as a joke whenever they cry out.

“He seems more adept at striking deals with foreigners than listening to Nigerians about their suffering under his harsh economic policies. His usual answer is; ‘I feel your pains, I know you are suffering’. Sorry, Mr. President, you don’t,” Yakubu said.

While condemning the abrupt withdrawal of fuel subsidy without consultation, leading to the huge rise in the price of petrol, with a litre now costing more than N1,200, he said the president was unmindful of what Nigerians are going through.

“If you did, you would have visited our states to see things for yourself, instead of flying to Paris and London. You would have been to the markets and ghettos of our major cities and villages to do on the spot assessments.

“But we are not your priority, your priorities are clear: raising revenue for your government at our expense and adding to our daily hardships and cost of living pains,” he added.

Comrade Yakubu condemned the carriage of  public administration in the country which affects both civilians and the armed services, and warned against implementation of IMF policies that lead worsens poverty, corruption and insecurity.

The group urged the working class to unite and resist any new privatisation exercise, saying, “We must not allow the regime to consolidate its hold on what remains of our national assets. This brazen capture of state resources by a few hands is a glaring violation of chapter 2 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
