The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari, has declared that the party’s sole objective ahead of the January 16, 2027, presidential election is to ensure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Yari made the declaration on Wednesday in Abuja while delivering his acceptance speech following the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council by Tinubu.

He urged members of the council to set aside personal interests and work collectively towards securing a second term for the President.

“It’s no time for ego. We are all one in this business. We have only one agenda. What is that agenda? To ensure that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu returns as President,” he said.

Yari assured Tinubu that the campaign council would work together to achieve its objective, expressing confidence that the team would deliver on the assignment.

He said the campaign would focus on communicating the administration’s achievements and future plans to Nigerians, particularly its impact on ordinary citizens and its infrastructure projects.

“As we start going around to royal fathers and clerics, this is the message I have been sending today: our campaign is going to be centred on what you have done and what you are going to do in the future,” Yari said.

The former Zamfara State governor commended Tinubu for what he described as achievements in infrastructure development and efforts to improve the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

He said the administration’s record had provided the campaign team with issues to communicate to voters ahead of the election.

“You have touched the life of an ordinary man. You have been there in infrastructure, building the iron road as if the money is nothing,” he said.

Yari further called on members of the campaign council to close ranks and work with party leaders and other stakeholders to mobilise support for Tinubu at the grassroots.

He said the campaign would seek support at polling units, wards, local government areas and state levels, stressing that the assignment required collective effort and commitment.

The APC campaign chief also highlighted what he described as the Tinubu administration’s commitment to women’s inclusion in governance.

He cited the appointment of eight female ministers, women serving as heads of federal agencies and other appointments across the country as examples of the administration’s efforts to provide opportunities for women.

According to him, the campaign would seek to translate these appointments and opportunities into electoral support for the President.

Yari formally accepted his appointment as Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council and pledged to work with every member to achieve the campaign’s objective.

“I, Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, as Director-General of this campaign, Mr President, I will do my best, and I will work with each and every member of this council to ensure that the result becomes a successful one by the 16th of January 2027, inshallah,” he said.
