President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries has shown his acceptance level by members of the party and other Nigerians.
The party’s senatorial candidate for Abia South, Erondu Uchenna-Erondu Jnr, stated this after the result of the primaries was announced in Umuahia, the state capital.
Lauding the conduct of the primaries in the state, the member representing Obingwa West Constituency in the state House of Assembly congratulated the president for the victory.
The onetime chairman of Obingwa local government area assured the president of his commitment to ensure the victory of the party in the area and the district in the election.
He described his own victory as a reflection of the confidence and trust the people have reposed in him, saying the difference of vote between him and the other aspirants was overwhelming.
Uchenna-Erondu Jnr, pulled a total of 16,640 votes against Dr. Nyerere Chinenye Anyim, 5,206 votes; Prince Paul Ikonne, 4,099; and Hon. Blessing Nwagba, 4,456 votes.
”The margin clearly shows the people’s confidence in my leadership and accessibility. It is about being close to the people and understanding their needs,” he said.
The lawmaker, who assured the constituents of quality representation if elected, promised to continue championing policies that impact them positively.
