Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has addressed public misconceptions regarding her identity and the pronunciation of her name.

In a video shared on her social media platform, the mother of one clarified that her name is often mispronounced or compared to objects. The move comes shortly after Rosy Meurer, the wife of Dikeh’s ex-husband Olakunle Churchill, reappeared on social media following a period of absence.

“My name is not Tom-Tom. I am not a sweet. My name is not Som-Tom. I am not Igbo. My name is Tonto. It’s spelt T-O-N-T-O, and it’s pronounced Tonto,” the actress stated.

The timing of the post has sparked debate among followers, as Meurer recently shared a video reintroducing herself without her wedding ring or her husband’s surname. This led to speculation about the state of Meurer’s marriage to Churchill, especially after reports that the couple had unfollowed each other on Instagram.
