Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State, on Wednesday night, said the judgement of the State’s Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, which upheld his victory at the 2024 governorship election was a victory for Edo people.
A press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Governor Okpebholo, Fred Itua, reacting to the legal victory at the Tribunal also extended a hand of fellowship to his main opponent at the poll, Asue Ighodalo, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to join him in the task of rebuilding a better Edo State.
He said the decision of the Tribunal validated the overwhelming support demonstrated by the citizens and residents of Edo State during the election, which also reaffirmed the integrity of the nation’s democratic process and stands as a testament to the will of the people.
