The Country President and International Director of United Nations Positive Livelihood Award Centre (UN-POLAC), Prof. Funmilayo Adesanya-Davies has urged the leaders of Palestine and Israel to find a peaceful and lasting solution to the ongoing conflict between the two Middle East countries.
Adesanya-Davies lamented the prolonged reprisal attacks has caused immense suffering, displacement, and economic hardship for the people of both nations.
She added that the conflict has resulted in severe humanitarian crisis, with thousands of innocent civilians caught in the crossfire.
She further stressed the urgent need for the international community to come together to demand an immediate ceasefire and negotiate a lasting peace agreement.
Adesanya-Davies noted that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has broader implications for regional dynamics and alliances, adding that, “It’s crucial that we address the root causes of the conflict and work towards a vibrant two-state solution possibly.
“The war has also had devastating economic consequences, exacerbating poverty and debt in the regions. We must prioritise economic cooperation and development to support the people affected by the conflict on both sides.
“As a representative of the United Nations POLAC demanding and soliciting for World peace, I call on UN, governments and organisations to join us in demanding an end to the Palestine-Israel war. So that together, we can create a more peaceful and prosperous future for all,” she added.
