APC House of Representatives primary elections in many wards of Jos North Local Government Area on Saturday had not commenced, leaving early-arriving party members uncertain about when voting would begin.

A correspondent observed that at most visited wards, voting materials and election officials were not on ground. At Vandapuye ward, where voting was to take place at St.

Theresa’s Primary School, election materials had still not arrived by noon.

LEADERSHIP learnt that most aspirants were already in a consensus meeting held at the residence of a first-class traditional ruler in the state.

Meanwhile, Plateau State APC Publicity Secretary Bako Wumanna insisted in a telephone interview that committees to conduct the primaries had been deployed to all electoral wards. “They have been deployed to all wards for the exercise,” he said.

The delays have sparked anxiety among party members who turned out early to cast their votes. Social media posts from wards in Jos and environs reported that neither materials nor officials had arrived at the voting centres as of midday.

Recent reports indicate confusion and delays in APC primaries across Plateau State, with voting postponed in several wards due to late arrival of electoral materials.

The state party has not issued a formal update on revised timelines or contingency arrangements. It remained unclear when voting would commence or whether results would be delayed pending collation from affected wards.
