Outside Nigeria, UNILAG shares the 801–1000 range with several institutions, including the University of Cape Coast, Ghana; Alexandria University, Egypt; Cairo University, Egypt; Ain Shams University, Egypt; and Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Mexico.

The rankings were meticulously conducted based on carefully calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution’s performance in the following areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry, and international outlook.
