The Unity Advance Group (UAG) has urged Nigerians to exercise restraint over the recent killings in Uromi, Edo State.

The incident has led to tension in some parts of the country with the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Chris Musa, saying the perpetrators would be brought to justice.

UAG in a press release yesterday condemned the killings and warned against any spillover.

The press release signed by UAG’s convener, Ifeanyi Aigbedion, noted that too many crises in the country were capable of worsening the economic problems in the country and appealed to all sides to wait for the CDS and other security agencies to bring justice to bear.

“Nigerians must learn how to tolerate each other. The Chief of Defence already promised that the perpetrators will be brought to justice. Hence we must not take laws into our hands.

“The Armed Forces of Nigeria under the able leadership of General Chris Musa has enough in their hands. We must not stretch the security agencies.

“No country thrive where there is persistent security challenge. The tension is not good for the country. We urge those affected by the killings to remain calm and wait on the vow of the CDS,” UAG added.
