VC Warns new Students Against Social Vices At Matriculation

Students of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Lapai (IBBUL) have been warned against any form of social vices inimical to their academic pursuit as the institution matriculated 4,937 new students for 2025/2026 academic session .

The vice-chancellor, Prof.Mohammed Hadi Suleiman,  who gave the admonition during the school’s 19th matriculation  yesterday, said the university has zero tolerance for cultism, examination malpractice, thuggery, cyber crimes, drug abuse, cohabitation, indecent dressing and any act of indiscipline.

He said the institution  was averse to any act that could hinder the fulfilment of the students ‘ academic dreams and therefore  charged them on the strict adherence to  the rules and regulations of the university.

While congratulating the new students , Professor Hadi Suleiman  urged them to make use of the available facilities and maintain them for their studies.

The vice chancellor stressed that various mechanisms for maintaining discipline and high standards of teaching and research have been developed and consolidated to ensure that  students enjoy excellent studies devoid of any discrimination and harassment.

 

The visitor and Niger State governor Mohammed Umar Bago represented by the permanent secretary Ministry of Tertiary Education Alhaji Sirajo Saidu assured that the state will  sustain the payment of bursary to  indigenous students .
