Super Eagles star Victor Boniface has threatened legal action against a social media blogger who falsely claimed he tested positive for cocaine and received a two-year football ban.
The blogger, using the X handle @YK_Milli, posted on Friday: “Victor Boniface has now been banned from football for 2 years by FIFA after it reported he tested positive for hard drug tests, Cocaine to be precise.”
Many immediately suspected the news was fake, urging the blogger to retract the post or face a potential legal challenge. However, the blogger remained defiant until Boniface himself noticed, hinting at impending legal action.
“Hope you get a better lawyer. For your sake I pray you get,” the Werder Bremen striker wrote.
Boniface was ruled out for the remainder of the season after sustaining a knee injury during training in December, shortly after his loan move from Bayer 04 Leverkusen to Bremen. He underwent successful surgery earlier this year and is currently undergoing rehabilitation at his parent club.
