Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted the Village Head of Bauda in the Maro Community, located within the Kufana Chiefdom of Kajuru Local Government Area in Kaduna State.

The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday, 28th June 2025, around 1:00 a.m., when armed bandits invaded Bauda village and kidnapped the traditional leader, Mr Obadiah Iguda.

According to a report submitted to the Agom Kufana by the Overseer of Kufana District, Mr Stephen Maikori, the attackers specifically targeted the village head. They departed without harming any other residents or looting properties.

“This senseless act of violence has exacerbated the atmosphere of insecurity and fear among the inhabitants of Bauda and its surrounding communities,” Maikori stated in the letter addressed to His Royal Highness.

The incident has disrupted Bauda’s traditional leadership structure and raised serious concerns about the deteriorating security situation in the area.
