National Population Commission (NPC) has expressed its readiness to conduct a hitch free census that will be widely accepted for the development of the country.
The federal commissioner representing Ekiti State in NPC, Mr. Ayodeji Ajayi, who stated this yesterday in Ado Ekiti at a one-day capacity building workshop organised by the commission for journalists, said the agency had put machinery in motion to conduct a successful exercise.
The workshop was designed to sensitise the journalists operating in the state on the commission’s preparedness towards the population and housing census slated to hold between March 29 and April 3, 2023.
He said the commission would continue to engage the media and other relevant stakeholders on all its activities, especially towards the forthcoming census.
The federal commissioner said the workshop would keep stakeholders abreast with the conduct of the exercise and improve the quality of media content on the exercise.
Earlier, the Ekiti State director of NPC, Mr Ademola Oladapo, said the programme was targeted at creating awareness on the preparation and the activities of the NPC towards the exercise.
He solicited for the collaborations of the various media outlets operating in the state for publicity and advocacy of the members of the public, saying the move would further make the organization to conduct a credible exercise.
