We’ll Strengthen Partnership With NAF To Improve Security – Makinde

Oyo State governor Seyi Makinde has promised continued partnership with the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) in line with its commitment to providing adequate security for its residents.

The governor, who stated this while playing host to Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Logistics Command, Nigeria Air Force (NAF), Ikeja, Lagos, Air Vice Marshal Kolade Ademuwagun, equally expressed his administration’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with NAF to improve security and also promote development in the state.

AOC Ademuwagun, who was accompanied by the General Officer Commanding of 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Odogbo, Ibadan, Major General Obinna Onubogua, and other top personnel were received by Governor Seyi Makinde at the Courtesy Room of the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, the Capital City of Oyo State.

Makinde also thanked NAF for releasing three of its personnel who are experts in aviation to help Oyo state upgrade Ladoke Akintola Airport, Ibadan, to an international Airport.

He reiterated the importance of a safe and secure environment for the progress of Oyo State and committed to working closely with military agencies to ensure the safety of residents.

“On your new assignment. We pray that it will be an impactful tenure of service and that you end well. At this point, I need to acknowledge that since I came here, the NAF has been a pillar of support and has been keeping us safe and secure in Oyo State. Your officers and men have been working day and night to keep us safe.

“We want to thank the Air Force on behalf of the people of the state and the government. Please sincerely thank the Chief of Air Staff for what you do at Oyo State.

“Yes, we look forward to a functional Air Force Base in Ajia. When we started the interaction regarding the project, they said we would pay compensation to the people who had to be displaced, and that had been done.”

Earlier, Air Vice Marshal Ademuwagun, who was on a courtesy visit to the governor’s office, acknowledged the governor’s efforts in maintaining peace and security in Oyo State.

He praised the governor’s commitment to security and robust relationship with the Nigerian Air Force.
