Buni who stated this during the 2024 armed forces remembrance day and launching of the emblem appeal week equally announced a donation of N20 million on behalf of the state government and the personal donation of N2m to the Nigerian legion Yobe State chapter.

The governor said people of Yobe State are fully aware of the role played by the armed forces of Nigeria in the restoration of the relative peace being enjoyed across the state hence their resolve to supporting and assisting the security operatives through whatever means.

“As we march from the negative effect of insurgency in Yobe State, we appreciate the commendable role played by the Nigerian armed forces in the restoration of peace and security across the state.

“It is gratifying that we now enjoy relative peace with our people moving freely and engaging in legitimate activities across the state without hindrance. We therefore, have to pay the glowing tribute to all the security operatives especially those who pay the supreme price of good over evil.

“This week-long event provides us with yet another opportunity to offer special prayers for the repose of the souls of our fallen heroes, pay tribute to them and in addition raise funds towards assisting those left behind by the fallen heros,” Buni emphasised.
