A former secretary to the government of Katsina State, and director general Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa, has reaffirmed his reunion with the former governor of the state, Ibrahim Shehu Shema to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 general election.

Briefing journalists on the readiness of the party to welcome the presidential candidate of PDP, Atiku Abubakar to the state for his campaign scheduled for tomorrow, Inuwa said they have resolved all disputes in the party in the state and are set to unseat the APC.

He, however, expressed dismay over the ruling APC government’s refusal to allow them to use the state stadium, Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, which the PDP government under former PDP Governor Shehu Shema built.

The DG campaign council regretted the action of the ruling party and reiterated the position of the PDP to use the Polo ground for the presidential campaign.

Meanwhile, the state government in a letter addressed to the PDP chairman in the state dated 13th December 2022, signed by Ibrahim Nuradeen and made available to LEADERSHIP, stated that the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium facility cannot be used for the event.

“Consequently, for the foregoing, you are advised to either use the Township Stadium or Katsina Polo ground for the presidential rally”, the letter stated.
