‎Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has weighed in on a trending video of a teacher being slaughtered.
‎
‎A mathematics teacher in Oyo State, identified as Michael Oyedokun, was allegedly slaughtered by Fulani terrorists.
‎
‎Taking to her Instagram page, Yvonne expressed sadness over the news, noting how only a certain group of people are complaining when everyone should.
‎
‎She noted that the killings are increasing and that people are no longer angry enough to call out the government. Describing the recent events as inhumane, she expressed concern that people aren’t standing up to it.
‎
‎“It is sad that when I look at the news, it looks like it is only a certain group of people that are complaining when it is supposed to be ALL OF US. This is not good for us, not in the eyes of man, not in the eyes of God (because nobody calls God more than us), not in the eyes of humanity, not even economically. I don’t see this angering us enough to speak out against it without fear. This should scare you more. This blood thirst is getting closer than we think.
‎This is inhumane in a country where we don’t have ambulances, toll-free numbers, or proper healthcare facilities. I am worried why we are not all standing against this. Are we now ok with this? Nigerians, is this the new standard?”.
‎
‎
‎Also, reacting to the death of the teacher, a crossdresser who has fled from Nigeria, Bobrisky lamented over how Nigerians are more focused on Chike and Frank Edoho’s story. He noted that Nigeria is in trouble, especially for those living in Lagos, and urged them to leave the country for good without looking back.
‎
‎Nollywood actress Ruth Kadiri wrote a letter to President Tinubu, urging him to either address the alarming rate of deaths in the country or give people the go-ahead to protect their lives and property. Kadiri noted how there is too much death in the country and how being a Nigerian isn’t safe anymore.
‎
‎While reacting to President Tinubu’s “Expect More” campaign billboards, gospel singer Ebuka Songs noted that people are dying daily, yet the president was concerned about erecting billboards everywhere. Ebuka admonished him to leave Nigerians alone, as he had failed them. He added that every bloodshed will continue to cry out as every wicked man will never go unpunished.
‎
‎Bolanle Ninalowo made it known that he is a voice for the people, not any Government. He expressed his heartbreak over the tragic events, saying he can’t stay silent. Bolanle said he hopes for change, not for political support and can’t stand by and watch his people suffer for any reason.
‎
‎Also, speaking out, Kunle Remi expressed heartbreak over the video. He said the video is his real birthday message to President Tinubu and expressed hope that it reaches him. He stated that he hopes the president sees what Nigerians are carrying and hopes that one day leadership will truly feel the weight of the people.
‎
‎A few weeks ago, footballer Emmanuel Emenike wrote a message to Nigerians, hoping for a better Nigeria. He said anyone believing that a better country is in the hands of their oppressors is dreaming. Emmanuel noted that Nigeria has plenty of resources and can’t be like the UAE; unfortunately, we have criminals in power.
‎
‎While reacting to the killings in Jos, social media activist, Very Dark Man, said living in Nigeria right now means one is one event away from making it to the news with an RIP tag on one’s picture. Shedding more light on the attack, he urged Nigerians not to listen to the government anymore and to learn to protect themselves.
