The Federal Government and organised labour on Thursday agreed to N70,000 as the new minimum wage against the N250,000 demanded by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC).

However, the Organised Labour has given reasons for accepting the N70,000 new minimum wage as approved by President Bola Tinubu approved on Thursday.

President of the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero told journalists briefly after labour’s meeting with the federal government that the unions had accepted the offer.

Ajaero said the labour centres agreed to the offer because of other incentives attached.
