Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni, has said the state will support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election because it has benefitted from the federal government projects and reforms.

He stated this as the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State endorsed President Tinubu for a second term in office at the party’s stakeholders’ meeting in Damaturu through a motion moved by Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan and seconded by the Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Hon. Chiroma Buba Mashio. The motion was unanimously adopted by the stakeholders.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Buni said that, as a member of the ruling party, the state has benefited from the federal government.

Buni stated that the alignment with the national party and government since 2015 has brought several advantages to the state, facilitating reconstruction and recovery programmes for the benefit of its people.

He called on the people of the state to once again support the APC and endorse President Tinubu for another term in office.

The governor commended the stakeholders for demonstrating a high level of political maturity, driven by peace and the collective interest of the state and its people.

“Although we may have differing political positions and opinions, we have never allowed violence in our political life. This is a testament that we are indeed the home of ‘Politics Without Bitterness,’ as advocated by one of our astute political leaders, the late Alhaji Waziri Ibrahim,” he said.

“I want to use this occasion to appreciate the good people of the state for their resilience and support for the government in our recovery efforts, not only to rebuild the state but also to make life much easier for our people.”

“To our security operatives, the government and people of Yobe State are deeply indebted to your commitment to the fight against insecurity. Some of you paid the supreme price to ensure that Yobe State remains peaceful. Your sacrifice is not in vain, as we now enjoy relative peace—a cause for which you laid down your lives.”
