Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike has appointed Hon. Michael Chinda as the senior special assistant on land, urban and regional planning.
In a statement signed by the director of press to the minister, said Chinda who was born on September. 17, 1960, in Rivers State, has a distinguished academic background and a wealth of professional experience.
According to the statement, the appointee earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Port Harcourt in 2004 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Technology from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, obtained in 1987.
“Honourable Chinda’s career has been marked by a series of notable appointments and responsibilities, reflecting his commitment to public service and his strong qualifications:
“Senior Lands Officer at the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, where he served diligently from 1989 to 2004. His expertise in land administration and urban planning was honed during his tenure.
“Secretary of Obio Akpor Local Government Council from 2008 to 2010, where he demonstrated strong administrative and leadership skills in local governance,” the statement indicated.
Wike also appointed Dr. Barivure Fred Kpakol as senior special assistant on environment and waste management.
Ogunleye said Kpakol’s extensive experience and qualifications make him a valuable addition to the FCT Administration’s dedicated team.
He was born on 26th of May, 1961, in Gokana local government Area of Rivers State, Kpakol is a highly accomplished individual with a remarkable academic background.
He holds a doctorate in banking and finance from Rivers State University of Science and Technology, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt.
Kpakol’s distinguished career has seen him take on numerous roles of high responsibility, demonstrating his capability and dedication to public service. Notable positions he has held include:

His background in finance, governance, and agriculture positions him well to address the complex issues related to waste management and environmental conservation,” he said.
