The confirmation came during the Minister’s monthly media briefing with selected journalists in Abuja on Monday, where he expressed shock and sadness over the incident.

Describing her as a dedicated and invaluable public servant, Wike revealed the high esteem in which he held the late Head of Service, noting he had personally advocated for her to stay on.

“The late FCT Head of Service was very hardworking. I pleaded with President Bola Tinubu to extend her tenure due to her hard work,” he said.

He further expressed his personal regret at the timing of the announcement, stating, “If I had gotten the information on the demise of the FCT Head of Service, I would have put off this media chat.”
