Wike To Honour FCT Athletes January 16

The minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike, is set to honour victorious athletes that represented the Capital Territory in various national games recently.

This was contained in a statement from the media unit of FCT sports department to the media houses on Tuesday in Abuja.

The statement said the honour and reception in recognition of the athletes’ performance at the 2022 National Sports Festival in Delta State as well as the 7th and 8th National Youth Games also held in Delta State will be staged on Thursday, January 16, 2025.

The event is being organized to appreciate the athletes and their officials’ great acts of sacrifice, patriotism and determination demonstrated at the Games which have brought the FCT great positivity.

The statement added that the Minister is committed to the development of sports in FCT as he has always reiterated that he would continue to create an enabling environment for sports to thrive as part of President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s focus to engage youths and help discover their potential.
