The Women in Management, Business, and Public Service (WIMBIZ) has intensified its advocacy for women’s empowerment, urging more inclusive policies and practices to enable women to break barriers and achieve tremendous success in various sectors.

According to a statement issued by the Executive Director of WIMBIZ, Omowunmi Akingbohungbe, this was emphasised at the WIMBIZ London Conference 2024, held in London, United Kingdom. The conference, themed “Next Level: Succeeding Beyond Borders,” focused on building connections in a crowded world and empowering women to navigate and thrive in diverse business landscapes.

The event saw participation from delegates representing eight countries, highlighting its international impact and reach.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, WIMBIZ, Bisi Adeyemi, delivered a powerful welcome address, emphasising the conference’s theme as a call to action. She urged participants to learn and grow together, appreciating the planning committee’s dedication.

The keynote speech by the CEO of Shoreline Energy International, Kola Karim, captivated the audience with its focus on passion, resilience, and seizing opportunities.

“When the strength of your passion is limitless, the strength of the boundaries you would be able to break will also be limitless,” Karim stated.

She resonates deeply with attendees and inspires them to take strategic action and personal responsibility.

The conference featured vibrant plenary sessions covering a range of critical topics, from building connections in complex business environments and wealth management to balancing career and family life, and exploring the transformative potential of AI in business. These discussions energized participants, motivating them to adopt new strategies, pursue continuous learning, and foster collaboration.

Dr Adeola Azeez and Bola Adesola, co-founders of WIMBIZ, highlighted key aspects of personal and professional growth. Dr Azeez emphasised overcoming mental barriers, continuous learning, and collaboration, while Bola Adesola stressed the importance of setting clear boundaries for maintaining control and balance in life.

Their combined insights underscored a unified message: success and growth require mental resilience and effective personal management.
