The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibril, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been positioned to win the 2027 election going by its control of 29 state governments.

He described the contest as a “done deal” if unity is sustained.

Barau made the statement while addressing party loyalists at a political gathering which endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor DIkko Umaru Radda  of Katsina State for second terms in 2027.

He said the turnout and early mobilisation reflected high political awareness and strategic coordination among party leaders.

According to him,  APC’s dominance at the state level is not just a statistic but a structural advantage that strengthens governance and electoral prospects.

He argued that with 29 governors, the party has deep grassroots reach, institutional presence, and the political machinery required to maintain national leadership.

The Deputy Senate President said the endorsement of President Tinubu was based on performance rather than sentiment.

He cited progress in infrastructure, healthcare, security, and education as evidence that the administration is delivering across critical sectors. These achievements, he noted, justify continued support and make the political decision both “wise and strategic.”

Barau also spoke from what he described as firsthand experience, saying his working relationship with the President gives him insight into ongoing reforms and policy direction.

He maintained that the administration is laying strong foundations for long-term stability and growth.

Addressing concerns over the rising cost of living, he acknowledged economic difficulties but linked them to global instability, including international conflicts and worldwide economic disruptions.

Despite these challenges, he said the federal government is working to stabilise the economy and put structures in place that will yield results over time.

He called for sustained unity within the party and cooperation across political actors, stressing that stability is essential for governance to succeed. Political calm and broad support, he said, would give the President the environment needed to fully implement his agenda.

Barau assured  supporters that party leaders and stakeholders would continue to monitor government performance to ensure that promises translate into tangible benefits for Nigerians, expressing confidence that the APC’s national strength places it in a commanding position ahead of 2027.
