A prosecution witness, Dr. Onuoha Okeigwe, has told an Ikeja Special Offences Court how popular relationship influencer Blessing Nkiruka Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, allegedly collected ₦69,150,000 for a property she did not own.
Testifying before Justice R. A. Oshodi on Monday, October 12, Dr Okeigwe detailed his dealings with the social media personality during the continuation of the social media personality’s trial.
The Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Blessing CEO on June 9, 2026, on two counts of obtaining money by false pretence and stealing.
According to the EFCC, the defendant allegedly induced Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited to pay ₦ 69,150,000 on or around March 21, 2025, under the false claim that she owned a property at No. 1 Tunbosun Osobu Street, Lekki, and was leasing it to the company for five years. She pleaded not guilty to both charges.
Dr. Okeigwe told the court that trouble began shortly after the payment when a man identified as Mr. Tom arrived at the Lekki property alongside police officers who arrested his workers.
When he confronted the defendant, Blessing CEO denied knowing Mr. Tom and maintained that she was the rightful owner of the building.
“I paid ₦100,000 to secure the release of my workers. Blessing still maintained that she did not know Mr. Tom and that she was the owner of the property,” the witness testified.
He further told the court that the influencer sent him WhatsApp messages containing photographs of the property as proof of ownership, adding that he paid additional sums covering agency, legal, and caution fees in addition to the principal lease amount.
The witness also revealed that investigations later showed Blessing CEO allegedly collected money from him and at least one other client for the same property, indicating a double-leasing scheme.
