Workers Escape As 2-storey Building Collapses In Asaba

Less than months ago, a two-storey building under construction collapsed near sthe Asaba International Airport, another one in the same area came down on Wednesday.

The building, a hotel located opposite Asaba Airport, Police Station, Okpanam, crumbled during a heavy downpour that caused panic among the residents.

An eyewitness said some of the trapped workers had been rescued while the search for others was ongoing as of yesterday evening.

The sudden collapse of the building left the construction workers to scamper for safety.

Although, there was no report of any life lost, it was gathered that some of the workers jumped from the building into others into nearby houses.

A source disclosed that some workers sustained injuries while trying to escape from the disaster.
