Top Nigerian artiste, Yemi Alade, is set to release her new single titled ‘Yemi Mi Lova’
The danceable tune comes out on Thursday, April 16, and a teaser has already been running on her Instagram handle @yemialade, which has 17.3 million followers, the second-largest following among female African artiste.
Yemi Alade, who has carved a niche for herself in music and entertainment, is one of the most sought-after African female artistes with hit songs, videos, and musical relevance for almost two decades now.
’Yemi Mi Lova,’ which draws inspiration from an old Yoruba movie of the same title, will definitely catch the fancy of fans and music lovers, as anything Yemi cooks is well received.
Her most recent albums, “Empress” and Rebel Queen weee released in 2020, and 2024, respectively. Her EPs include African Baddie in 2022 and Mamapiano in 2023
Yemi Eberechi Alade, known professionally as Yemi Alade, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, actress, and activist whose music blends Afropop, highlife, dancehall, pop, and R&B, and has been influential across Africa. She sings in English, Igbo, Pidgin, Yoruba, French, Swahili and Portuguese.
She gained prominence with her 2014 single ‘Johnny’. Following the release of her albums King of Queens and Mama Africa, Alade embarked on consecutive world tours.
Alade is also the second Nigerian and Afrobeats artist, and the first female, to hit 100 million views for a single video on YouTube, after Davido. Alade’s song “Tomorrow”- the lead single from her sixth studio album Rebel Queen- earned her first Grammy nomination. It received a nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
