The Yobe State governor, Hon Mai Mala Buni has commended the electorates for their turnout during the just concluded governorship and House of Assembly elections across the state.
Buni, while speaking to newsmen shortly after casting his vote in Buni-Gari of Gujba local government area, equally expressed happiness with the peaceful conduct of the elections throughout the state.
The governor said, as a state recovering from the effects of Boko Haram insurgency, the peaceful conduct of the exercise was encouraging, urging the people to continue exhibiting a high sense of maturity in all their dealings.
“I am highly impressed with the voters turnout, especially that this area is one of the epicentres of Boko Haram insurgency, and now people have not only returned but, exercising their franchise.”
Also, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State, Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka, expressed satisfaction with the process as well as the conduct of the governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.
A statement issued by the press secretary of the chairman, Sa’adatu Maina said Gadaka equally commended the security, INEC officials as well as the people for their support, which led to the peaceful conduct of the exercise.
