Speaking to LEADERSHIP in his hometown, Potiskum, Potiskum local government in Yobe State, Abali, said that there is a glimmer of hope by 2027, the governorship ticket must be shifted to either Zone B or Zone C to ensure peace and justice.

He said the Yobe East senatorial district has dominated the political landscape for years, employing a divide-and-conquer strategy to maintain its grip on power.

He said that this has led to the marginalisation of Yobe North and Yobe South, Zones B and C, which have been silenced and excluded from the rotation of the governorship ticket.

According to him, the result is a lack of representation and disenfranchisement among the people of Yobe North and Yobe South.

He said their call was to address the imbalance in the production of governors in the state and gain more party members.

“I want to tell you that, As noted in a study on the impact of leadership styles, such domination can lead to lower productivity, damaged relationships, and even absenteeism.

However, this move would promote representation and inclusivity and foster a sense of belonging and unity among the people of Yobe.

“Allocating the party ticket to Yobe North or Yobe South this time would address this imbalance and promote inclusivity.

“It will also empower two zones to fully participate and lead in the development of our state alongside other district.

“This action would demonstrate that the APC value every zone within the state equally, thereby rallying widespread support and enthusiasm, which is crucial for a successful election outcome,” he said.

Most, especially, Yobe South is home to individuals with strong leadership qualities, integrity, and dedicated, who have proven their mettle in various capabilities.

Prince said zoning the party ticket to Yobe South also aligns with the spirit of the APC’s foundational vision, which emphasizes fairness, unity, and national integration.

“It would resonate positively with the broader electorate, showcasing and equal participation across all regions,” he said.
