Tinubu’s Presidential Pardon Is Political Bazaar – Ex-Minister

A week after the Court of Appeal in Abuja sacked Senator Elisha Abbo as the lawmaker representing Adamawa North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, who presided over the plenary on Wednesday, swore-in Amos Yohanna as a replacement.

While Abbo is of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Yohanna is of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

LEADERSHIP recalls that the Appeal Court which delivered judgement on October 16 nullified Abbo’s victory at the February 25 poll and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue a Certificate of Return to Yohanna as the duly elected lawmaker representing the Adamawa North in the National Assembly.

Shortly after the Appeal Court’s verdict in Abuja, Abbo accused the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, of being behind his sack.

However, Abbo subsequently recanted and apologised to Akpabio.
