The national leadership of Nigerian Youth In Politics (NYIP) has condemned the recent killings in Agwan Rukuba, Jos North LGA, Plateau State, expressing deep grief and outrage over the incident while calling for stronger and proactive security measures to prevent reoccurrence.
In a statement issued in Abuja, NYIP chairman, Hon. Felix Idowu, and National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Dotun Omoleye, urged security agencies to move beyond reactive responses and adopt more strategic, preventive approaches to tackling insecurity.
The group, therefore, proposed the Community Resilience Against Terrorism (C-RAT) Initiative, a framework designed to position local communities as the first line of defence through early warning systems, grassroots vigilance structures, and real-time communication channels with security agencies.
Speaking on political developments, NYIP stressed the need for transparency and fairness by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the 2027 general election, urging the commission to deepen stakeholder engagement in order to strengthen public confidence in the electoral process.
The statement further called for coordinated action across all levels of leadership to address insecurity and uphold electoral integrity, while encouraging Nigerian youths to take an active role in safeguarding their communities.
