Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has expressed sorrow over the death of the mother of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, as well as the passing of Hajiya Maimuna Isah Umar, mother of the Emir of Rano.
In separate condolence messages issued through his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Yusuf described the losses as painful, noting that the death of a mother creates an irreplaceable vacuum in any family.
The governor commiserated with El-Rufai, his family, and the people of Kaduna State, urging them to find comfort in the life and legacy of the deceased. He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
Similarly, Yusuf described the death of Hajiya Maimuna Isah Umar, who passed away at the age of 95, as a great loss to the Rano Emirate and Kano State. He said the late matriarch lived a life of faith, humility, and service to humanity.
He extended his condolences to the Emir of Rano, the royal family, and the people of the Emirate, praying for Allah’s mercy upon her soul and strength for the family to bear the loss.
The governor urged the bereaved families to remain patient and steadfast in faith, while calling on well-wishers to support them with prayers and compassion during the period of mourning.
