Zamfara State governor, Dauda Lawal, has approved the payment of the registration fees for 70 students at the Sahel College of Health Sciences and Advanced Studies Gusau for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The school is a community-based college that caters for the educational needs of particularly disadvantaged young people.
A statement by the executive secretary, Zamfara State Scholarship Board, Prof Rasheedah Liman, said the intervention is in line with the present administration’s commitment to promoting access to quality education, supporting academic excellence and ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder deserving students from achieving their professional aspirations.
“The approval reflects the government’s deliberate efforts to invest in human capital development and to empower young citizens to contribute meaningfully to the overall development of the state,” he said.
Liman said beneficiaries were selected by the school administrators based on merit and financial needs.
“This support will significantly ease the financial burden on the affected students and their families, while enabling them to successfully complete their studies
“The students were received and interviewed at the Zamfara State Scholarship in order to verify their qualifications and proper documentation,” he added
