Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has inspected 1,000 housing projects at Logumani and Gajibo communities of Ngala and Dikwa local government areas which were destroyed by Boko Haram insurgents and residents were displaced since 2014.

At Logumani where 500 houses are being built, Zulum expressed confidence that the ongoing work would soon be completed and people would be resettled in two months.

“We have seen the level of building here and I have given a deadline of two months within which they should complete the work and we will return people to their homes,” Zulum said.

The governor said the buildings included  basic amenities such as a primary school, health centre, police station and borehole for provision of water.

At Gajibo in Dikwa local government area where the building of 500 houses is ongoing, Zulum ordered that the project  be completed in three months to enable residents return home.

The governor was also at the Shehu of Dikwa’s palace to pay homage.

He emphasised the need to ensure food security through irrigation farming.

Zulum noted that through farming, the state government intends to provide a viable solution to the problems of livelihood among IDPs that are returning to their communities.
