Kano Central senatorial candidate under the platform of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Hon. Abdulmajeed Babangida Sa’ad yesterday said his party is the credible alternative in the 2019 general elections.
Sa’ad said for Kano State, his party and his candidature in Kano central senatorial district are the credible alternatives for the present and future of Nigeria.
According to him, “Building institutions is imperative for building a viable future and that is part of the reasons why I want to be at the Senate to represent the good people of the Kano Central senatorial district to higher heights.
“I want to tell the electorates in the Kano Central senatorial district to vote for me because I represent a new direction and development not only in Kano, but Nigeria at large.
“I am confident that, by the special grace of God, after counting of votes on the 16th of February, 2019 National Assembly polls, I will be victorious,” Sa’ad said.
Sa’ad further said even though there has been a massive growth in democratic process in Nigeria, the recycling of political leaders who have been at the helm of affairs since 1999 to date is worrying.
Sa’ad explained that neither the APC nor PDP has proved to have practical solution to Nigeria’s pervasive economic, political and security woes which, he said, originated from the kind of leaders they produced.
“They have states under their control that are engulfed in economic, political and social misery,” Sa’ad claimed, referring to the main political parties in Nigeria.
“I challenge them to apply their proposed programmes in their respective states now as a remedy for the crisis we are facing as evidence of their ability to drive Nigeria to greatness,” Sa’ad added, observing that in the last 18 years of Nigeria’s return to democratic rule, there is no increase in value for education, health, the judiciary adding that moral standards is on the decline.
