Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the state contingents in the just concluded Hajj exercise at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He also applauded the effort of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and the State Pilgrims Welfare Board in handling the affairs of the pilgrims from the state and national levels.
The governor made commendations while fielding questions from journalists shortly after returning from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where he performed this year’s Hajj rite.
He said he interacted with the state contingents at different fora while in the holiday land and provided them with Sallah gifts to enable them to settle some of their bills before returning home.
The governor revealed that arrangements have been made to commence the airlift of the pilgrims from Jidda to Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport Bauchi.
He assured the commitment of his administration to sustain the support of pilgrimage and the general welfare of pilgrims.
LEADERSHIP recalls that Governor Bala distributed 300 Saudi Riyals to each of the pilgrims from Bauchi.
Similarly, his wife, Aisha Bala Mohammed also shared bedsheets to the pilgrims.
