Nigeria’s U17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, is gearing up for the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco. The team will resume camping on Sunday, September 7, 2025, in Abuja, as they prepare to take on the best young female footballers from around the worl.
Head Coach Bankole Olowookere has invited 30 players to the camp, comprising four goalkeepers, nine defenders, nine midfielders, and nine strikers. The players will work together to fine-tune their skills and strategies in the lead-up to the tournament.
The 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup will feature 24 teams from around the globe and will be played across four venues in two cities in Morocco.
The tournament will kick off on October 17, 2025, and run until November 8, 2025. The venues include¹:
– Prince Héritier Moulay el-Hassan Sports Complex
– Prince Moulay Abdellah Sport Complex.
– Al Barid Stadium
– Mohamed VI Football Academy
The Flamingos qualified for the tournament by overpowering South Africa and Algeria in the qualifying series.
As 2022 FIFA World Cup bronze medalists, they will be looking to build on their previous success and make a strong impression in the tournament.
With their camp resuming on Sunday, the Flamingos are set to intensify their preparations and make Nigeria proud in the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
