2026 Hajj: Kano To Commence Pilgrims’ Airlift 14 May

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced that the airlift of intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj will commence on 14 May, in line with the schedule released by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.

The Director-General of the board, Alhaji Abubakar Matawalle, disclosed this during the closing ceremony of the Hajj Induction Course held at the School for Arabic Studies, Kano, as part of preparations for the annual pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

Matawalle said the inaugural flight from Kano would be operated by Max Air, the designated carrier for the state, and assured that all necessary arrangements had been concluded to ensure a smooth, hitch-free exercise.

He noted that the board had put in place adequate logistics and coordination measures ahead of the commencement date, expressing confidence in the state’s readiness for the operation.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Yusuf Lawan, urged intending pilgrims to study their induction materials thoroughly to enhance their understanding of the Hajj rites and procedures.

He also advised them to strictly comply with the guidelines and regulations issued by both Nigerian authorities and the Saudi Arabian Government throughout the pilgrimage.
