Kogi State commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Asiwaju Asiru Idris, has inaugurated a mobilisation committee to drive support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The committees’ inauguration held in Isanlu, attracted party faithful, community leaders, youth groups and women representatives from across Yagba Federal Constituency.
At the event, Idris said the committee was constituted to deepen grassroots support for both leaders and to effectively communicate the achievements of the Tinubu administration at the federal level and the Ododo-led government in Kogi State.
He explained that the committee would operate across the Yagba Federal Constituency, engaging stakeholders, mobilising residents and fostering unity within the party.
According to him, President Tinubu has continued to implement reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s economy, while Governor Ododo has sustained development efforts in the state through investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare and security.
“The task before this committee is to take the message of continuity and progress to every ward and polling unit across Yagba Federal Constituency. We must remain united and committed to ensuring victory for President Tinubu and Governor Ododo in 2027,” he said.
Idris urged members of the committee to carry out their duties with dedication, discipline and fairness, noting that their role would be critical to the success of the campaign.
In his remarks, the chairman of the newly inaugurated committee thanked the commissioner for the confidence reposed in members, assuring that they would work diligently to deliver on their mandate.
He added that the committee would immediately begin consultations with stakeholders, including traditional rulers, market women, youths and other interest groups across the constituency.
Some party supporters at the event described the inauguration as a strategic move to strengthen the party’s structure in Kogi State ahead of the next election cycle.
The ceremony ended with renewed pledges by committee members to work for the re-election of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo, amid chants of support from party faithful.
