The Ondo State APC Women Campaign Committee has begun grassroots mobilisation for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election, with a target of mobilising at least 500 women per leader.
The committee announced the target at its inaugural meeting, where members deliberated on strategies to strengthen the party’s support base across the state, particularly among women in rural communities.
Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the committee, Dr Seun Osamaye, said the mobilisation would involve direct engagement with women at the grassroots and the use of digital platforms to reach a wider audience.
She urged members to take the campaign to rural communities, stressing the need for sustained interactions with women to secure their participation in the 2027 election.
Osamaye said, “We want every woman leader to go back to her constituency and mobilise at least 500 women. If every leader takes this responsibility seriously, we will be able to build a strong network of women across the state.”
She also encouraged members to deploy social media platforms through creative graphics, digital publicity and other online campaigns to publicise the achievements of the Tinubu administration.
According to her, the combination of physical engagement and digital campaigns would help communicate the party’s message to more people across Ondo State.
The committee chairman commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for recognising the role of women in the party’s political activities and providing them with a platform to participate in the mobilisation for the 2027 election.
She also praised the governor’s wife, Mrs Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, for her contributions to women’s development and empowerment.
Osamaye said the governor’s support and his wife’s commitment to women’s participation had provided encouragement for the committee’s mobilisation activities.
Also speaking, the Co-Chairman of the committee, Princess Iji Aiyeola, urged members to return to their respective local government areas and intensify mobilisation among women.
She said, “We must take this assignment seriously by returning to our various local government areas and ensuring that women at the grassroots are reached and carried along.”
Aiyeola added that effective grassroots engagement would strengthen the party’s structures across the state and make its mobilisation activities more visible.
The Secretary of the committee, Adeola Finch, announced that each local government area would have a designated coordinator to oversee mobilisation activities and ensure effective communication among women leaders.
She said the arrangement would promote accountability and coordination while ensuring that the committee’s objectives were achieved across the state.
Other women leaders at the meeting also pledged their commitment to building a strong network of grassroots supporters ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
