Five persons have died in a fatal accident involving a tricycle and a commercial bus with registration number RBC15ZN n Osogbo West Bye-Pass, Osun State.
It was gathered that five occupants of the tricycle which included four pupils and the driver died instantly.
Though the cause of the accident could not be immediately ascertained at the time of filing this report, an eyewitness blamed the accident on reckless driving.
The deceased were deposited at the Osun State University Teaching Hospital morgue while the injured were taken to the emergency unit of the hospital.
Meanwhile, Governor Ademola Adeleke has expressed his sadness at the news of the accident that claimed the lives of some school pupils and others.
Responding to the incident, Adeleke in a statement by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, expressed deep pain at the disturbing occurrence and convey the sympathy and government of Osun State to the families of the affected families
Governor Adeleke reiterated the call on users of road to exercise caution and adhere strictly to safety guidance on roads, saying the state government under him will work with relevant authorities to make our road safer for users.
