Uber has joined forces with an advertising agency, Omnicom Media Group (OMG) to enhance its advertising sales pitch.

The ride-hailing company aims to tap into Omnicom’s expertise and global network to expand its advertising reach and generate more revenue.

Uber will marry its mobility and retail media inventory with Omnicom’s audience insights, per a press release while Omnicom will provide strategic guidance, creative ideas, and media planning and buying to Uber.

Uber plans to offer various advertising options to its customers, including in-app ads, sponsored rides, and branded vehicles. With Omnicom’s support, Uber hopes to attract more advertisers and increase its ad revenues.

The collaboration with Omnicom comes as Uber is looking to diversify its revenue sources and reduce its dependence on ride-hailing alone. Advertising is seen as a lucrative avenue for Uber to monetize its platform and leverage its vast user base.

According to Uber, the partnership with Omnicom is aimed at helping it connect with riders and drivers across all channels, including online, mobile, and out of home.

The ride-sharing company has been investing heavily in marketing and advertising since its inception, with the goal of attracting new users and raising awareness about its services.

Commenting on the partnership, vice president and general manager for Uber’s advertising division, Mark Grether said: “as we look to the future of mobility and retail media, this new partnership taps into OMG’S vast data and partnerships, enabling us to take on a new level of precision in intelligent targeting, insights and activation for advertisers.”

Uber’s push into advertising has already gained momentum, with partnerships with companies like McDonald’s and AT&T. These partnerships have enabled Uber to display ads within its app and offer sponsored rides to customers.

The collaboration between Uber and Omnicom is set to play a crucial role in helping the ride-sharing company scale its business and expand into new markets across the globe.

By leveraging the vast resources of Omnicom advertising agencies, Uber can create a more compelling advertising pitch that resonates with riders and drivers alike and helps it stay ahead of competitors.
