APC Diaspora Chair, Oyekanmi, Joins Party’s National Scribe Race

The current chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) South Africa Diaspora Chapter, Hon Oluwatoyin Oyekanmi, has thrown his hat into the ring for the vacant position of party’s national secretary.

An APC member and Oyekanmi’s associate, Femi Ojo, said the diaspora chairman has transformed the APC South Africa Diaspora Chapter into a formidable force.

Ojo said, ‘‘Under his leadership, the chapter achieved remarkable milestones, including the establishment of the “South African Professional and Business Council.” His pivotal role in the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council during the 2023 elections contributed to the party’s resounding victory.

“Known for his visionary leadership and diverse experience in the entertainment, hospitality, financial, and media sectors, Hon. Oyekanmi is recognized as a resourceful businessman with signature brands in South Africa. His achievements have not only brought pride to the Diasporan community but also exemplify Nigeria’s commitment to greatness, success, and competence.

He said Oyekanmi has a plan to bring “Renewed Hope” to the party, including introducing a modern, digitally-driven management system that aligns with global standards.

“His agenda includes rebranding and repositioning the party, ensuring that all members have a sense of belonging and influence, rather than a select few dominating decision-making processes.

“If elected as the APC national secretary, Oyekanmi pledged to be a team player and add value to the party. He intends to leverage the expertise and talent of APC members at home and in the Diaspora to support elected officers and foster national development.

“Emphasizing the need for youth involvement, he called for a dynamic, twenty-first-century ideological political establishment to drive change and progress in Nigeria,” he said.
