Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Hon Chiroma A Buba Mashio, has congratulated Yobe State governor Hon Mai Mala Buni on the 32nd anniversary of the creation of the state.
The speaker congratulated the state governor and the people of the state for attaining 32 years of existence and prayed to God to continue to bless the state with success and peaceful coexistence.
He noted that Yobe State was carved out of Borno State on August 27, 1991 by the regime of General Ibrahim Babangida with its capital in Damaturu.
According to him, Yobe State shares boundaries with Borno State to the east, Gombe State to the south, Bauchi and Jigawa states to the East and border with Niger Republic to the north.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the founding fathers of the state and its subsequent leaders for the appreciable socio-economic and political development recorded.
The speaker, enumerated various developmental drives put in place by the state governor Mai Mala Buni in all facets of human development within the last four years of his stewardship.
Buba described the bold steps taken by the governor in addressing insecurity, poverty, hunger, poor health and provision of water, agricultural inputs, qualitive education and creation of investor-friendly atmosphere as right steps towards taking Yobe State to the Promised Land.
He called on his colleagues to support the government of governor Mai Mala Buni in order to deliver the promises made to the electorate.
“I want to assure you all that I will work with the fear of God Almighty and will serve as speaker to all and my door will remain always open.
“ I call on all members to support the administration of His Excellency the governor of Yobe State, Hon Mai Mala Buni to serve the people of the state and provide the dividends of democracy.
