Group chief executive officer (GCEO) of Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Mele Kyari, has urged stakeholders to stop issuing goodwill messages to him over his reappointment.

On Monday, President Bola Tinubu approved the appointment of the board and management team of the NNPC Limited.

The appointments, which are expected to take effect by December 1, 2023, included six non-executive directors.

According to a statement on Wednesday by the company’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, the GCEO requested that all parties concerned refrain from issuing congratulatory messages on his reappointment.

The oil chief emphasised the importance of all stakeholders’ commitment to driving revenue growth and fortifying resilience for the naira and the economy.

In addition to Kyari’s appointment, LedumMitee, Musa Tumsa, Ghali Muhammad, Mustapha Aliyu, David Ogbodo, and Eunice Thomas were appointed as non-executive directors.
