A Lagos State Magistrate Court sitting in Ogba has remanded three accused of murdering Adeniyi Sanni, an aide to Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre for 30 days.

Magistrate Temitope Oladele remanded the accused: Fred Azeez Okuno, a 43-year-old resident of Lagos; Lucky Idudu Michael, a 33-year-old from Delta State and Adedigba Segun, 26, from Ibadan, Oyo State following a request by the Lagos State Police Command.

The magistrate ordered that they be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre for 30 days, pending legal advice from the office of the state’s Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).

The suspects were brought before the court by the police on a six-count charge of Felony, murder, conspiracy, armed robbery, illegal possession of firearms, and impersonation by wearing a military camouflage uniform.

The police in Lagos had on September 18, 2023, paraded the three suspects linked to the killing of the deceased, a senior aide to Senator Adeola, who is the lawmaker representing Ogun West Senatorial District at the National Assembly.

The police had claimed that the suspects intercepted the deceased at a checkpoint around New garage bus-stop in the Berger area of Lagos.

Sanni was stabbed and shot on August 5, 2023, leading to his death.
