Chibok residents under the aegis of Kibaku Area Development Association (KADA) Abuja branch have appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State to save them from total annihilation.

They made the call at a press briefing in Abuja following escalating attacks by Boko Haram extremists on Chibok local government area.

Recall that terrorists attacked Ntsiha in Chibok West killing 15 innocent civilians on January 2, among others.

The chairman of Kibaku Area Development Association (KADA) Mutah Nkeki said military presence is only felt in Chibok town making surrounding communities vulnerable to terrorists’ attacks.

He disclosed that half of the Chibok girls abducted in 2014 were still in captivity, adding that the terrorists are still allowed to attack the people with little or no resistance.

“The current level of killings in Chibok underscore our concern for how long our internally displaced people will stay with us here in Abuja. Even though the insurgents are still holding close to half of the number of our daughters abducted in 2014, they have still been allowed to unleash terror attacks on our people unabated.

“It is on the basis of these foregoing that we are passionately appealing to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our Executive Governor Professor Babagana Zulum to urgently take deliberate and sustainable actions to save our people from total annihilation,” he said.

The group called for the reinforcement of the existing security post in Kwada-kautikari in Chibok East which is the only military base.

They also called for the establishment of four security posts at Kwarangilim in Chibok West, Gatamwarwa in Chibok East, Shikarkir in Chibok South West and Kuburmbula in Chibok North East.

“We beseech your immediate intervention to restore peace and stability to our beloved Chibok land,” he said.
