The Association of Nigerian Women Business Network (ANWBN), in partnership with Unity Bank, has empowered over 5,000 women-led enterprises across all 36 states in Nigeria.

Divisional head for retail SME Banking at Unity Bank, Adenike Abimbola made this announcement during an event held in Abuja to commemorate International Women’s Day. She said the partnership between the women association and Unity Bank was to support women-owned businesses as an empowerment for the women.

The event, themed “Building Sustainable Entrepreneurial and Financial Skills for Women in Challenging Times,” highlighted the impact of initiatives like the Yanga women-based products, launched by Unity Bank a few years ago, in driving business growth among women MSMEs.

“The partnership with ANWBN has successfully empowered Nigerian women with skills and credit facilities at a single-digit interest fee, significantly expanding the MSME circle in Nigeria,” said Adenike.

National coordinator of ANWBN, Angela Ajala emphasized the association’s role, comprising over 90 women business groups with over five million members.
